US (CO): Estes Park’s vertical farm reopens to public at new location

EP Greens is an indoor hydroponic vertical farm that has been growing produce for residents of Estes Park and the Front Range since 2017. For the last several years, they have done so in two separate facilities in the Estes Valley- one on Graves Avenue and the other on Kenwood Lane. They have recently suspended operations to move all of their equipment and operations to the Kenwood Lane facility and will be back open to the public starting next week (February 20 and 21).

Owner and farmer Ellen Bristow explains, “We wanted a second space to grow more lettuce, which is our most popular crop. So, for a few years, we have been growing in two places, but it turns out that the second facility is large enough to house our entire operation. It also has high ceilings and better ventilation, which is critical to us growing indoors through the warmer months. And, of course, it is more efficient for us to be all in one place. Customers can expect to see the same products we had available at the old location.”

Those items include lettuce, microgreens, leafy greens, shoots like peas and sunflowers, and fresh and dried herbs, including basil, oregano, sage, dill, rosemary, and catnip.
