S.A.: From fleeing Zimbabwe to owning one of Cape Town’s best known vegan spots

Elisha Madzivadondo, a Zimbabwean man who fled his home country during political unrest, has turned his life around and is making a difference in many people's lives in South Africa.

Elisha Madzivadondo prides himself in providing people with healthy food. The Zimbabwean came to South Africa years ago during political unrest in his country. After arriving in South Africa, Madzivadondo took a job in construction. However, after some time, he decided to make a real difference in the world by investing his energy into making healthy food.

He started The Sunshine Food Sprouting Co. His restaurant has now become one of Cape Town's best-known vegan establishments. The restaurant offers plant-based food. According to Beautiful News, 'every meal out of the kitchen is lovingly heaped with microgreens and sprouts' from Madzivadondo's garden.

"Just like growing crops, one must take baby steps to harvest your goals," Madzivandondo told the publication. He adds that people must believe in themselves and never stop hoping for the best. "My advice for anyone who feels they have been knocked down would be to believe in themselves and to love whatever was entrusted into their hands," Madzivadondo added. "One thing I will never stop growing is hope."
