Indoor hydroponics farm set-up at School of Agriculture (SOA), Uttaranchal University, Dehradun

Reflecting back on Chandramani Kumar's undergraduate days in agriculture, he often wished there had been access to cutting-edge facilities like an R&D hydroponics setup—where a variety of high-value crops could be trial-tested, from medicinal and aromatic plants to leafy greens—independent of external weather conditions and without the long processes of field preparation.

On May 26, he shared that the Agronomy Department at Agri Joy has partnered with the Department of Agriculture at Uttaranchal University to establish an indoor hydroponics farm within the university campus.

This facility is now operational, and both institutions are actively collaborating to assess the viability of various herbs and leafy vegetables under controlled environmental conditions. What's even more inspiring is that all on-ground operations are being managed by the university students themselves, providing them with valuable hands-on experience and enhancing their skills in agritech and modern agronomy practices.

He looks forward to this collaboration opening new doors of learning and innovation and benefiting many more young minds at the Department of Agriculture, Uttaranchal University.
