Hong Kong lawmakers visit hydroponic textile lab

The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA) recently welcomed more Legislative Council members to its Open Lab, including Mr Jeffrey Lam Kin Fung, Mr Shang Hailong, Prof William Wong Kam Fai, alongside Ms Emily Mo Yuen Ching, Assistant Commissioner (R&D Centres) and Mr Danny Lo Kwan Yung, Senior Manager, Research and Development Centres Division from the Innovation and Technology Commission.

The company shared new elements of its innovations and partnership results while exploring how its solutions support Hong Kong's tech advancement and social development. The guests even got hands-on with the "Farm-to-Garment" lab, harvesting the hydroponic cotton themselves. This system integrates cultivation, processing and knitting in one streamlined, low-carbon process.

These visits from Hong Kong's policy makers are invaluable as the company collaborates to position the city at the forefront of textile and manufacturing.
