Dutch Lion AgTech Solutions and Airlux Technologies have announced their partnership to develop a new generation of hybrid growing systems. The collaboration, set to be formalized at Greentech Amsterdam 2025, combines Dutch Lion's patented Modular Carousel System with Airlux's advanced lighting and climate technologies.
Together, the two companies are creating a hybrid platform that merges the efficiency of greenhouse farming with the precision and scalability of vertical farming, enabling growers to reduce costs, save space, and boost yields through advanced environmental control.
A collaboration built on vision and technical synergy
For Dutch Lion, a startup with deep horticultural roots and a future-focused cultivation system, finding the right partner was essential.

At the World Horti Center in Naaldwijk, Dutch Lion is showcasing and continuously refining its Carousel System in a real-life growing environment. When Airlux visited the site, the system's potential immediately stood out. This inspired them to join forces, contributing their expertise in lighting and climate technology to further optimize the system for commercial use. "Vincent needed tighter control over lighting and climate, especially during high-radiation periods when sunlight brings excess heat," explains Robbert Bakker, CEO of Airlux Technologies. "We immediately saw the potential for Airlux to step in with both lighting customization and climate precision."
Custom-built for growers, designed for scale
A focus of the project is Airlux's ability to design custom light fixtures that enhance natural light use while ensuring consistent spectrum and intensity which is important for uniform crop development. On the climate side, Airlux is delivering an integrated cooling and dehumidification system that stabilizes growing conditions even in enclosed or variable environments.
"Growers need precise control over light and climate to achieve consistent, high-yield results," says Robbert. "Our technology is all about enabling them to do just that, and this partnership allows us to bring that value into a system designed for the future."
Airlux's custom engineering approach immediately resonated with the Dutch Lion team.
"Our CTO saw the Carousel System and said, 'This is something we want to be part of,'" Robbert adds. "That kind of proactive, solution-driven attitude is what makes this partnership so dynamic."
From trial to commercial rollout
The first pilot installations of the integrated system are being implemented this year, with multiple new projects already in discussion for later this year and into 2026. As word spreads, interest from greenhouse and vertical farm growers continues to grow.
"Once it hits larger greenhouse facilities, the business potential becomes very mature," Vincent mentions. "We're already seeing that momentum build."
