Hydroponic Systems designs, manufactures and exports soilless growing systems that enable higher quality food production with up to 80-90% less water consumption than traditional agriculture.
Its catalogue—based on metal gutters and the patented Spacer, which raises the substrate bags to prevent contact with accumulated drainage—has revolutionised the cultivation of fruit and vegetables in greenhouses and agricultural tunnels in more than 40 countries.
The company's innovation not only reduces environmental impact, but also increases farmers' profitability. By keeping roots healthy and preventing disease, Hydroponic Systems' systems drastically reduce the use of pesticides and fertilisers, as well as extending the useful life of the facilities. This translates into lower maintenance costs, higher production per square metre and a faster return on investment.
Water conservation, a key global economic issue
In regions where water has become the main limiting factor, Hydroponic Systems offer a practical and measurable solution. While growing tomatoes in soil can require around 60 litres of water per kilo produced, the company's hydroponic systems reduce this consumption to between 4 and 22 litres, depending on the technological level of the greenhouse.
This saving is not only essential for environmental sustainability, but also represents a direct competitive advantage: less water means lower costs per kilo produced and more predictable agriculture in the face of droughts or water restrictions.
