UK: Wellness centre will build vertical farms

Therme Group and Russel Partnership Collection launched a new joint venture, Therme RPC. Therme RPC will deliver transformational food and nutrition strategies across all Thgerme Group wellbeing resorts worldwide. This includes Therme Manchester, at 28 acres, UK's first city-based wellbeing resort on track to open in TraffordCity, Manchester in 2023.

Sustainable innovations planned for Therme Group resorts, some of which will be seen at Therme Manchester, include the creation of vertical farms, roof-top beehives, artisan bakeries and partnerships with chalk stream fish farms and local producers.

The vertical farms will grow produce both for Therme Group's on-site restaurants and for the wider local community. With a huge emphasis on sustainability across the group, the farms will use advanced systems for energy-efficient environmental control.
