AeroFarms wins in technology category

Aeroponic agtech firm won 'BIG Innovation Award' in technology category

AeroFarms won a BIG Innovation Award in the technology category, presented by Business Intelligence Group. The indoor vertical aeroponic grower is the only agtech-agriculture firm to receive the award, according to a news release.

This award program recognizes organizations and people who bring new ideas to life. “Innovation is now critical for our civilization to progress,” Maria Jimenez, chief nominations officer, said in the release.

AeroFarms co-founder and chief marketing officer Marc Oshima said in an e-mail that he was “excited to join other winners like Citi Ventures and Goldman Sachs, one of our key partners as we scale indoor vertical farming around the world.”

His company strives to find sustainable solutions to global food insecurity, Oshima said. The company grows, packs and sells salad greens. Its commercial retail brand is Dream Greens.
