Koat and Crux Agribotics invest in local sales and service organization in Ontario

"Ontario horticulture is at a forefront in automation and robotization"

Koat and Crux Agribotics are investing in a local sales and service organization in Canada to serve the horticulture and fresh produce market. For this expansion, the company is looking for a local Sales manager and multiple Service Engineers.

Koat and Crux Agribotics are growing extensively, also in the Canadian and North American markets. To ensure the right service levels to its customers, it will invest in its local presence. In this way, the company intends to pro-actively service and support its customer base with existing systems and provide advice for future inquiries, adaptations, and expansions. As the company, with Crux Agribotics, is also delivering advanced robotics systems for automated grading, sorting, and packing, with the SortiPack product family. It is a precondition to be able to have also more advanced skill sets and competencies available on the ground to provide 24/7/365 support.

Close to customers
“We want to be close to the market and our customers to exceed customer expectations and to act as a trusted partner,” says Richard Vialle, CCO & Founder of Kind Technologies, the technology group behind Koat and Crux Agribotics. “We see an increased interest and deployment of technology within the horticulture and fresh produce market. This results into increased complexity of integrating and supporting such technology. We believe that close collaboration and cooperation with growers and packing centers are a precondition for success. The growing community in Ontario and Canada is at a forefront when it comes to forward thinking, automation and robotization. From our Canadian hub, we also want to serve the Northern American market and eventually open a sales and service hub across the U.S. as well,” Vialle adds.

The Sales Manager that is being recruited will be the face, eyes, and ears of Koat and Crux Agribotics. He or she will proactively manage relationships with growers in the region, provide advice and work out possible solutions with the growers’ team. Our goal is to advise growers and packing stations in the region about the possibilities of current technologies within the greenhouse logistics domain and also about the advantages of our robotics that enable future possibilities with data and AI.

Investments
With the extended services team on the ground, Koat and Crux Agribotics can guarantee customer robust uptimes across all product lines and technologies including stringent SLAs with guaranteed response times and spare parts management.

“We are investing heavily into R&D, sales, and services for the horticulture and fresh produce market, Vialle states. We are here to stay and for the long term. We will stand side by side with our customers to support them during the whole life cycle instead of only selling a system”.

Different profiles are being recruited for the service team. Different backgrounds are welcome, such as background and experience in mechanical, electrical systems up to PLC and robotics. Service Engineers will be involved in the installation and commissioning of new Koat lines and Crux Agribotics systems as well as responsible in coordinating corrective maintenance. Analytical thinking, being a self-starter and strong communication skills are personal traits that are important.

The Netherlands
The team in Canada will be supported by the second- and third-line support in the Netherlands. The Service Engineers will also be trained in and from the Netherlands as part of their development program. Both experienced service engineers as persons just starting, are invited to contact the company to assess possibilities.

The mother company behind Koat and Crux Agribotics, Kind Technologies, is a fast-growing high-tech scale-up with over 200 highly educated employees active in Industrial Automation with Robotics, Computer Vision and AI. It has a very open culture where its people get a lot of freedom and room to learn, to make errors, and to develop themselves and the collective. An entrepreneurial spirit is stimulated and people can be themselves. “It is all about people, the rest is technology” is a key principle at Kind Technologies who believe that, with their technology, they can contribute to a better world, where food and medicines are better distributed and productivity can increase whilst waste is being minimized.
