Indoor farming in Mexico discussed

More than 34% of Mexico's agricultural production ends up in landfills each year due to inefficiencies during production, processing, storage, and transportation. Then there's billion liters of water lost due to poor irrigation annually in traditional agriculture in Mexico. 2019 was the driest year in Mexico since 1981 and 7 million people sleep hungry in Mexico every night. This information, shared by Karla Garcia during a recent HortAmericas cafe forum, only covers a part of why there's excellent opportunities for Indoor Farming in Mexico.

The complete presentation ‘Indoor Farming in Mexico: Current Status and Opportunities’ was given by Karla Garcia (Microgreens FLN & HortAmericas) during their 27th cafe forum on February 23rd, 2021. Indoor Ag Science Cafe is organized by the OptimIA project team funded by USDA SCRI grant program.
