In the French department of Seine-Saint-Denis, an urban production of fruit and vegetables is being grown in 12-meter long containers. The products grow inside, under a pink light, protected from bad weather.
“We control the environment perfectly, including the humidity, temperature and CO2 levels, to make it a paradise for the plant,” explains Guillaume Fourdinier, co-founder of Agricool.
No pesticide or treatment is necessary in this space with ideal conditions. The productivity per square meter is also 100 times higher than in a field, and 15 times higher than in a greenhouse.
