“We saw that many light suppliers are focusing on crop-specific technology. We wanted to take a different approach and have developed an overall high-performing light recipe that can be used to grow any crop at any stage. This makes our product accessible for any grower," Dries Bovijn, co-founder of Mother explains.
"Farmers are used to choosing a light spectrum composed of mainly red and blue light, as they believe that it is the most efficient to grow their crops. We have seen a lot of farmers coming back from this, not only is it much easier to work with full-spectrum light as you can spot fungus or diseases in an early stage, it allows your plants to develop deep tastes and colors, and is in most cases just as effective in plant growth compared to purple light."

“In the beginning, we mainly focused on providing end-consumers with our products, enabling them to start growing their own microgreens and vegetables at home with an easy plug and play system. While indoor farms usually start from scratch and built their own systems, we believe in a one size fits all formula,” Dries affirms.
