Total sales of local vegetables through the Premium Qatari Vegetables and Qatar Farms programs amounted to about 760 tons in June, according to the Ministry of Municipality and Environment. Of this, 307 tons were marketed through the Premium Qatari Vegetables program and 453 tons through the Qatar Farms initiative.
Products sold through the two programs are available in major consumer complexes in Qatar, such as LuLu Hypermarket, Carrefour, Al Meera, Family Food Centre and others.
The MME has adopted the two programmes to market Qatari vegetables in order to provide an opportunity to Qatari farmers to display their local production of high-quality vegetables in consumer complexes at reasonable prices for customers without any intermediary, and without the farmer having to pay any financial commissions for the same.
