Planet Farms introduces its product packaging

Italy: Introducing FSC paper bags for vertically grown produce

Ready-to-eat salads and basil produced by Planet Farms in the site of Cavenago, just outside Milan have arrived in the fruit and vegetable department of many supermarkets in Lombardy. Founded and managed by Luca Travaglini and Daniele Benatoff, the startup Planet Farms is a large and advanced vertical farm in Europe that produces 100% pesticide-free vegetables. For this reason, the packages are made of FSC recyclable paper.

The names are humorous and easily recognizable: Lattugood for lettuce, Yummix Piccante, Orientale and Delicato for salad mixes and Basilicooh for basil.

The Planet Farms salads and aromatic herbs packages, distributed in the main supermarket chains in Lombardy upon return from summer vacation, tell the origin of the vegetables and the innovative and sustainable method with which they are grown. "Faithful to the objectives of uncompromising sustainability that have always guided us and are inherent in the DNA of our company, we thought of a recyclable package in paper. The decision to move toward a more ecologically responsible material allows us to break the rules from a visual impact standpoint and at the same time protect the quality of the product," say Luca Travaglini and Daniele Benatoff, co-founders and co-CEOs of Planet Farms.
