Hungary: Harvesting robot developed for hydroponics plants

Human-robot collaboration is at the center of a project to make hydroponic crop production more efficient.

"We are still afraid to accept collaborative robots on a large scale. To promote the use of these robots, we have to focus on safety,"  says Jozsef Toth, one of the researchers. "To generate acceptance for the robots, we have to be sure it causes no harm."

This team's tests show the robotic arm can pass seedlings to its human co-workers without causing injuries.
