Plant Factory

Turkey: Agtech company closes first investment round of €2 million

Plant Factory received its first investment with a valuation of €2 million. Plant Factory produces pesticide-free and nutritious foods on city farms with the technology it developed in Turkey and aims to increase its production capacity by increasing the number of facilities.

Plant Factory makes agricultural production convenient in the city, developing production technologies independent of soil, sun, and horizontal space. In this way, the unit can produce 315 times more efficiently per m2.

Aiming to shape the future of agriculture in Turkey with its nature-friendly technology, engineer infrastructure, and R&D investments, the company also continues its efforts to export the vertical agriculture technology it has developed to the world.

After the investment process, the founding partners Halil Beşkardeşler, Ahmet Güney, Anıl Sönmez, and Emre Kaynar shared their feelings and thoughts on the process: “It was underlined that food safety and sustainability is one of the most important issues on the agenda of our country and the world, especially with the Covid-19 outbreak. We think that producing food with clean ingredients in the places closest to living areas by using the available resources in the most efficient way has become a necessity."
