India: Vertical farming project to start in Jammu

The founding stone of a high-tech vertical farming polyhouse project for turmeric cultivation was laid at Mishriwala Jammu, India.

The project is the first of its kind in the Union Territory of J&K, and will eventually encourage the farmers of the area to take on modern innovative farming techniques for higher output at lower costs under a product-based cluster mechanism.

“The project is a joint collaboration of the AS Agri & Aqua LLP and the local farmers of the area, financed by the Ellaquai Dehati Bank under Cooperative Farming Mechanism through 28 Joint Liability Groups constituted of 276 women of the area.”
