Vertical farm prepares for major Nordic expansion

Danish company Nordic Harvest, which produces lettuces, cabbages, and herbs on a vertical farm, is now starting preparations before embarking on a major expansion to most of the Nordic region. Founder and CEO Anders Riemann believes that interest in sustainable food is so high that the company can easily support the rapid expansion.

Nordic Harvest's facilities in Høje Taastrup can currently produce around 250 tonnes a year. Soon, however, a major expansion will be underway, which will mean, among other things, that the Danish facilities will be able to produce up to three times as much. 

The Danish vertical farm Nordic Harvest, based in Høje Taastrup, seems to have caught on in Denmark. The lettuce, cabbage, and herb producer has had to report sell-outs on its products since it launched the products in stores in April and is still unable to keep up with demand. That is why the preparatory work it has now launched ahead of an imminent expansion has also been long-awaited.
