Funding for developer of berry harvest robot

The Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture of Germany, Cem Özdemir, together with Nikola Steinbock, Spokeswoman of Rentenbank's Board of Managing Directors, handed over the first funding approvals to Organifarms GmbH and three other start-ups. For their innovation in the field of agriculture, Organifarms receives funding in the amount of € 800,000 euros.

Organifarms develops farm robots to automate labor-intensive tasks in protected fruit and vegetable farming. Their innovative technology and goal to contribute to a fair and sustainable food system convinced the expert council.

"We are very happy about this great support, which will allow us to introduce our product to the market and supply the first customers this year," says co-founder and CEO Dominik Feiden.

In total, funding approvals totaling around 2.9 million euros were awarded today. In addition to Organifarms, the companies ConstellR, crop.zone and Feldklasse can look forward to receiving funding.

About the program
In a new funding program, early-stage funding is provided to agriculture-related start-ups in order to strengthen innovation in the agricultural and food industry. Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank is implementing the program on behalf of the BMEL. The first four funding decisions were handed over by Federal Minister Özdemir in January 2022.
