In the middle of COVID, Agro-LED received a new LED fixture: the Combo. It is a fixture from the large Italian lighting manufacturer C-LED, for which Agro-LED does the sales and distribution support in the Benelux and beyond. Roy Visser and Mark van der Ende tell us that the company from Kwintsheul has already attracted a lot of attention with this luminaire.
"Since we started offering this fitting, we have received many requests from cannabis growers. Growers there often exchange a 1000 watt HPS fixture for this 600 watt LED fixture", says Roy. "But there is also interest from the Dutch side", adds Mark. "Here you can see that the possibility of lighting with a broad spectrum in a space without daylight is popular. The fact that it is a compact fixture also helps."

Single or double
Agro-LED offers the fixture in different versions. Both a 'single' fixture, good for 300 watts, and a 'double' fixture of 600 watts are available in Kwintsheul. Roy: "We are unique in this respect because we have our fittings in both 220 and 400 volt versions. 400 volts is common in greenhouses, but we also regularly use the 300-watt fittings with 220 volts."
Agro-LED also offers other fixtures from C-LED in both 220 and 400 volt versions. Pictured here in the cucumber crop. More photos on LinkedIn.
The advantage of LED lighting, as is generally known by now, is its lower energy consumption compared to HPS. This also applies to the Combo. As a result, the fixture also falls within the Dutch EHG subsidy scheme that stimulates the replacement of HPS for LED. "Because of this, you see that there are also requests from growers who opt for hybrid lighting in tomatoes or roses, for example."
The fixture uses air for cooling. Mark: "The fixture, made of stainless steel, has aluminum pin cooling. This is can be dimmed if needed."

Growers can buy the fixtures from Agro-LED as usual, but leasing is also possible. Mark: "We offer this option in cooperation with Volgroen. This way, growers who want to benefit from these new technologies can save on energy without having to make large one-off investments."
