Signify suspends exporting to Russia

Lighting company Signify suspends exporting to Russia. The company confirms this after reports in the Eindhovens Dagblad. Earlier Signify issued a statement about the war in Ukraine. A spokesperson says that the decision to suspend exporting to Russia has to do "with the logistical challenge due to the political situation." Many companies in the sector have the same problems and therefore have taken the same decision.

A Russian project by Signify. Teplichnyy state greenhouses in Russia's Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk were equipped with LED lighting last year.

Signify lets it be known that it is having difficulties getting products into Russia. All deliveries that were made through Signify's Ukrainian distribution center before the Russian invasion are now being delivered through Signify's location in Poland, the newspaper says.

Signify has no factories in Russia, only offices. The company is said to have 137 people working there. The company says it is following the guidelines of the European sanctions.
