Scotland: Dandelion project launches cubes in the most random places

The story begins in April of 2022 – not in a city, town, or even a farm, but on a tiny island in the very far north-west of Scotland, where the Cubes of Perpetual Light were built to grow. Each Cube is just a meter cubed – but these miniature vertical farms can each grow hundreds of plants under special LED bulbs, encouraged by new music created especially for Dandelion.

The Cubes are equal parts artwork, laboratory, and vertical farm, and from the Borders to the Highlands to the islands, they’re coming your way this year. You can find them in schools, special installations, unexpected gardens, and on tour.
