Urban Crop Solutions and Mayer Planting Systems join forces

Urban Crop Solutions (UCS) and Mayer Planting Systems (Germany), a supplier of automation solutions for substrate preparation as well as for the filling and handling of pots, have agreed on a partnership. With this, Urban Crop Solutions goes one step further in offering its customers' automation equipment as well as after-sales support and maintenance of this equipment.

The German-based machine manufacturer Mayer, with over 50 years of experience in specialized peripheral equipment for the agricultural and horticultural sector all over the world, joins forces with Urban Crop Solutions. With their offering of bale breakers, soil mixers, and hopers, as well as a wide range of potting machines and tray fillers, Mayer is a welcome partner for Urban Crop Solutions' customers with their specific needs.

"A customer is always accompanied by Urban Crop Solutions from start to finish, in other words, from 'request to commissioning.' Our growth solutions are, of course, the heart of every installation, but the need for automation should also be considered by every customer. The capital investment in an indoor farm is important but as important is the operational cost to run a farm. Here, automation and robotics are more important than ever. We do this with partners that share the same quality and service standards as we envision," says Jean-Pierre Coene, CEO of Urban Crop Solutions. "Linking with Mayer as being a premium supplier in the horticultural industry completes our offering in the industry even more."

The technicians of Urban Crop Solutions will be responsible for the service on the machines of Mayer as well. This aligns with their strategy as an end-to-end solutions provider where clients have one single contact from pre-sale to post-commissioning.

With immediate effect, the machines of Mayer will be incorporated into the solutions of Urban Crop Solutions and built into specific projects. Urban Crop Solutions moreover now becomes the sales agent for Mayer in Belgium.
