FAO director-general Qu Dongyu calls for investment in agriculture and infrastructure

FAO director-general Qu Dongyu called for investment in agriculture and infrastructure in the countries most in need to prevent the acceleration of acute food insecurity trends in the coming months and years.

“The current levels of food lost and wasted could feed around 1.26 billion people per year. The cumulative loss to the global economy from these issues is more than 12 trillion US dollars in 2020 and 2021.” Qu Dongyu

The Vertical Future systems reduce wastage because the growing environment is made more efficient with the close monitoring of our in-house developed DIANA SaaS system. There is also less risk of wastage caused by threats as a result of climate change, where crops are at the mercy of the elements.
