Karin Tifft joins team of expert horticulturists at IUNU

Karin Tifft has joined IUNU as a Horticulture Advisor, focusing on meeting the needs of and driving ROI for growers and launching new products.

Tifft has worked in the greenhouse industry for over 20 years, working alongside and learning from some of the best leaders in the industry. Tifft is a renowned expert in Integrated Pest and Disease Management (IPDM), having worked with the USDA, with many of the largest greenhouses, including Eurofresh Farms, and at Koppert Biological Systems in beneficial insect rearing. Tifft joins IUNU after most recently having worked at Greenhouse Vegetable Consultants, where she worked alongside Dr. Merle Jensen & Ken Gerhart for the last 12 years.

It's no secret that Tifft is an accomplished horticulturist who brings an abundance of knowledge with her to the team. She will join an elite cohort of horticulturists at IUNU that through innovation and collaboration focus on advancing the Controlled Environment Agriculture industry.

When asked about her motivation to join IUNU, she said: "Some of my favorite growers and advisors are retiring, and they are so skilled! I will miss seeing them in the greenhouse, and I also miss their expertise. Historically, it has taken many years to get these skills. Karin joins a team of expert horticulturalists at IUNU, which includes Gordon Rowe, Erika Verrier, and Theodore Huggins. Together, the Advisor team has over a century of horticultural expertise and covers lettuce and leafy greens, tomatoes and vine crops, and ornamentals.
