Logiqs wins BID Innovation Award 2022

Logiqs has won the BID Innovation Award 2022. The BID Innovation Awards were presented to the seven most innovative companies in the Netherlands in 2022. The Dutch Innovation Award and the election for the title 'Most Innovative Company in the Netherlands' are not only about innovative capacity but also about the positive impact the company's innovative technology has on people and the environment. The Dutch Innovation Award went to Mimetas, which was nominated along with Logiqs and Physee from the horticulture sector, among others.

Gert-Jan van Staalduinen accepts the BID Innovation Award, presented by Frederieke Leeflang (NPO).

Figurehead of innovation
On 1 November 2022, Gert-Jan van Staalduinen of Logiqs received the award from NPO director Frederieke Leeflang at the BID National Innovation Dinner.

The evening was broadcast on Wednesday evening, 2 November, on NPO1 during AVROTROS' TV program 'De Wereld Van Morgen' (watch it here). Gert-Jan reveals that he tried hard to promote Logiqs and vertical farming during the broadcast.

The BID National Innovation Dinner was a collaboration between Amsterdam Centre for Business Innovation, the AVROTROS, and Big Improvement Days (BID) and was presented by Ralph van Hessen.

"We are proud of these companies, as they were among the last seven in the battle for The Dutch Innovation Prize, out of a total of 712 participating companies," said Ralph van Hessen, initiator of Big Improvement Days.

Jury principles
The jury paid attention to investments in innovation, contribution to sustainability, leadership, organization, cooperation with partners, and market position, among other things. This year, the jury consisted of Gerard Bakker (inspector general NVWA), Hans Boumans (Technology Transfer Manager TNO), Jos de Groen (senior policy officer SER), Thomas Grosfeld (specialist Innovation and Top Sector Policy VNO-NCW), Donovan van Heuven (editor-in-chief MT/Sprout), Geert Huizinga (director Advocacy FME), Frederieke Leeflang (board chair NPO), Greet Prins (board chair Chamber of Commerce), Albert Jan Thomassen (director FBNet Family Businesses), Pieter Waasdorp (director Entrepreneurship, Ministry EZK) and Henk Volberda (jury chairman).

From 10 October, the public could vote (online) via AVROTROS' De Wereld van Morgen website.

Innovative technology
"Based on participation in the Dutch Innovation Monitor, desk research, site visits, and an expert jury, the five companies competing for the Dutch Innovation Prize 2022 were selected. They differ greatly in the way they innovate, but are similar in terms of their ambitions to contribute to a better world," said jury chairman Prof Dr. Henk Volberda, Professor of Strategy & Innovation at the UvA and director of the Amsterdam Centre for Business Innovation.

The Dutch Innovation Monitor 2022 - by the UvA's Amsterdam Centre for Business Innovation - was behind the selection of the nominated companies. The companies that received the BID Innovation Award 2022 are Logiqs, MIMETAS, Physee, The eNose Company, InProcess-LSP, Basilisk Self-Healing Concrete, and Singhboard.
