On Wednesday, the 30th of November, Mayor Jeff Martin, and the Hamilton Township Environmental Advisory Commission announced the winners of the 2022 Environmental Awards -- GeoGreens and Scout BSA Troop 91.
"GeoGreens and Scout Troop 91 have surpassed their expectations in service to our community," said Martin. "Each has helped Hamilton be a better sustainable and environmentally friendly community through education and action and deserves to be recognized for their achievements."
GeoGreens, owned and operated by Desmond Hayes and staff, is a hydroponics vertical farm. As a modernized-style farmers' market, members can tour it and learn about indoor growing and buy fresh produce and dozens of herbs, leafy greens, micro greens, and other items all year long.
GeoGreens conserves both energy and water and seeks to bring people back to natural healthy eating. Scout Troop 91 and its members and leaders, including Scoutmaster Jeff Weber, have long acted to beautify the Township through volunteer services on mostly conservation projects.
