GrowPura has been awarded two international patents in Canada and Australia for its GrowPura Vertical Farming System (VFS). The new patent means Canadian businesses will now have access to license the GrowPura VFS. The system delivers improved sustainability performance and commercial results and is suitable for existing or new vertical farming operations.
GrowPura is a technology business created with a vision and solution to make vertical farming more effective, consistent, and at a lower cost. It uses a patented, sophisticated conveyor system that operates in a clean room environment, dramatically improving the carbon footprint of vertical farming and its economic benefits.
The conveyor system continually moves plants past sources of light, irrigation, and monitoring technology in a clean room environment. This means it has an inherent lower carbon impact and start-up cost design that delivers an extra 100-300% by increasing the effective growing area in any building footprint.
The two new patents build on the other GrowPura country patents already granted in the UK and Singapore, with other countries due to be announced later this year.
