Former AppHarvest president lists Revol Green as first clients

New technology startup focuses on propagation

David Lee, former president of AppHarvest, has taken on the role of CEO and Board Chair at Inevitable Tech, a business-to-business agtech platform that employs artificial intelligence, plant science, and automation, with a focus on the propagation stage. "Inevitable creates and develops growing systems that enable farmers to manage their crops more efficiently, to enhance farmer profitability and food quality," he says. The company's first product, the "Clean Propagation" system, helps ensure healthy seeds and robust seedling growth.

"Our versatile technology helps every farmer overcome the limits of propagation – high-carbon, high-cost transportation, international vendors, climate change, and adaptive pathogens that are ravaging agriculture today – all while improving yields per acre," says David. "Beyond the seedling, superior plant health and environment-specific intelligence, help farmers close the gap between demand, signal, and production – improving yield, sustainability, and profits."

Inevitable's first client is Austin-based greenhouse grower Revol Greens. Inevitable also has a development agreement with US grower AppHarvest.

"Nearly 70% of vine crops consumed in the United States are imported, exposing them to the risks of pests and other hazards during transportation that can wipe out an entire harvest. Inevitable's technology enables farmers to reduce costs, increase yield per acre, and mitigate growing volatility associated with climate change while shrinking the land, water, and energy footprint of crops", says David.

Inevitable's hardware and software can be used on any type of farm, from indoor hydroponic farms to open-field farming throughout the United States. David stated that "Inevitable is an opportunity to help growers harness cutting-edge technology to realize urgently needed efficiencies and economies of scale."

Lee was previously President of AppHarvest, where he oversaw the expansion of the company's tomato farm and the construction of three additional high-tech indoor farms with a diversified crop portfolio. He has also served as a board member at technology startups in CEA, consumer health, and seed technology, including Zevia and Benson Hill. Lee has also held leadership positions at Zynga and Del Monte.

In addition to Lee, Inevitable's executive team includes Chief Legal Officer Myra Pasek, Chief Financial Officer Nikki Mostafavi, Senior VP Operations Lucianne (Luci) Kempton, VP Engineering Tom Kendall, VP Plant Science Patricia (Paty), and Lucas Ramadan as Head of Software and Data. Breakthrough Energy Ventures, At One Ventures, Zero Carbon Partners, R7 Partners, Amplify Partners, Pathbreaker Ventures, and Eniac Ventures are among the company's investors.
