Singapore: Local urban farm ComCrop to host tour

Local urban vegetable farm ComCrop will open its doors to an exclusive tour on July 8.

The tour, part of the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment’s #GoGreenSG campaign, aims to give visitors a deeper insight into the farm’s daily operations and how it contributes to food security in Singapore using sustainable crop growth methods.

Founded in 2011, ComCrop is Singapore’s first commercial rooftop farming company that focuses on sustainable urban farming.

The company uses various technologies, such as automated farming and a mobile gully system, to maximize space, increase productivity, and reduce manpower. It also uses solar energy to reduce energy consumption from the grid and manages plant growth through remote monitoring.

ComCrop was also one of the few companies to receive the Singapore Food Agency’s (SFA) $30 million “30×30 Express” grant in 2020.
