Ukraine: Dutch Agricultural Counsellor visits smart garden project

The "Smart Garden" project by Continental Farmers Group is four years old. The experience gained in rural areas during these years, as well as the educational and social aspects of the project, led the organizers to the decision to include city schools as well, writes the AgriTeam Netherlands Embassy in Ukraine on YouTube.

This spring, the growing of microgreens was started at Ternopil School-Lyceum No. 6. A small but ambitious team of students was gathered. They are fully in charge of the process: from planting microgreens to supplying products to local restaurants.

This year, the "Smart Garden" project was supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine. Thanks to this, the Dutch Embassy established close cooperation with several Dutch companies. "We very much hope that we will continue strengthening our relations. In July 2023, Reinoud Nuijten, Agricultural Counsellor of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine, visited Ternopil school to meet the project leaders and participants."

"We hope that based on the positive experience we have already gained in this school and with the support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine, we will scale up our project and extend its borders to other communities of Ukraine."
