Planet Farms eyes Norway, the US and the Middle east for the future

Founded in 2018 by Luca Travaglini and Daniele Benatoff, Planet Farms has been producing baby leaf salads, basil, and pesto just outside Milan, Italy. Today, their products are distributed in two million Italian supermarkets.

With three production sites for the moment, the main factory is based in Cavenago, whereas a research and development laboratory is in Cinisello Balsamo, and a smaller-sized farm is dedicated to the Da Vittorio restaurant in Brusaporto. The company recently announced the opening of a new facility at the beginning of 2024 in Cirimido.

Growth plans for the future
"Our future plans include expansion into other markets outside of Italy. Within five years we plan to open 10 new facilities that are similar to the UK one. We are interested in countries like Norway and the Middle East. Further, we are planning on growing new crops in the future, including wheat, cotton, flax, and coffee in Iceland. It is our intention to also go to the United States to evaluate the acquisition of a company similar to ours and become a market leader," says Daniele Benatoff, co-CEO.

New products
The company just launched a new line of Frescaah salads, which includes all the references already present in addition to the Misticanza and the baby lettuce with a new completely recyclable paper packaging.
