Indonesia: Residents receive training on 'aquaponic farming in buckets'

The KKN Post 11 Team held training on aquaponic farming in buckets for the KWT (a Women Farmers Group) and Karang Taruna in Karangtengah Village, Tuntang District, Semarang Regency, Saturday (21/10/2023). This training is one of the work programs of the Economics and Entrepreneurship division and received a positive response from residents.

The Catfish Budikdamber Training was attended by 5 representatives from Karang Taruna and 20 representatives of KWT (Women's Farmers Group). This Catfish Budikdamber Training aims to increase new knowledge and insight for KWT members and youth organizations regarding one business inspiration that can be cultivated easily and profitably.

"I really support this training because it can be an inspiration for interesting businesses for KWT and Karang Taruna, namely an alternative to fish farming on limited land," said Yuni Tri Sumani, chairman of the TP-PKK (Family Empowerment and Welfare Driving Team).

The fish culture used in this training is catfish, and the plant media used is water spinach. In this training, the speaker explains the basic skills of cultivating catfish from start to harvest. These stages consist of preparing the tools and materials that will be used for the aquaponics, catfish care stages such as measuring catfish feed according to the size of the catfish, if the catfish are large, then they can be given large pellets, if the catfish are small they must be given small pellets.
