"It's incredibly trendy to grow your own vegetables"

This was stated by Hans Verbeek in the Algemeen Dagblad. He is active in the Gaia Garden. It is one of the community garden greenhouse projects that Wetland now boasts. The Gaia Garden can be found on Molenbroeklaan in Honselersdijk.

Two-thirds of the greenhouse is being converted into approximately 36 individual garden plots, each around 25 square meters. Hobby gardeners can rent a plot to grow their own vegetables. The rest of the greenhouse will become a self-harvest garden based on CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). "This means that I grow the vegetables, and people come to harvest their fresh, pesticide-free vegetables themselves, 45 weeks a year, every week," says Hans. Read the whole item here.
