International Cosmetics Science Centre A/S (ICSC) has launched natural active ingredients from its certified Precision Climate Farming Facility based in Denmark to satisfy the growing demand of sustainable cosmetics ingredients. The facility is placed just next to the Headquarters, R&D and Quality Control lab as well as the production facility. This makes it possible for ICSC to supply and develop sustainable, natural, active cosmetic ingredients to the industry.
Precision climate farming
After extensive research on various plants grown in different environmental conditions for several years, ICSC has developed a unique model where plants are grown in a controlled environment. Precision climates are created to develop the optimized conditions for the plants in order for them to produce a higher content of phytochemicals than what can be achieved under "normal" conditions. Furthermore, this is achieved under energy optimized conditions, securing the lowest possible consumption of resources.
The extraction is carried out using Green Technology without the use of synthetic solvents and with optimized energy to minimize waste and maximize resource efficiency. All products from Precision Climate Farming are produced using internal stabilization, which increases shelf life and stability of the ingredients significantly.
The actives are supplied in an oil or butter and hence can be implemented in formulations in the oil phase. ICSC's Precision Climate Farming grows plants using soil-less technology, with an average of 80 % less water and with 100 % certified green energy. The facility is fully certified to various quality standards such as the ISO 9001/2015, EfFCI certification and Kosher.
