India: Mushroom-cultivation themed field day promotes production techniques

ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hailakandi, under the ICAR-North-East Hilly Region, organized a field day on mushroom cultivation at Behul Village, Lala Development Block, Hailakandi district. The event aimed to promote and demonstrate scientific mushroom production techniques, with around 34 farmers and farm women participating.

The experts expressed satisfaction with the success of the Front Line Demonstration on mushroom cultivation, jointly conducted by educated youths Shri Kanak Das and Shri Kamal Das, under the technical guidance of ICAR-KVK Hailakandi. They assured continued support and guidance from KVK across agriculture and allied sectors.

The demonstration, featuring a mushroom unit with a 250-bag capacity, received positive feedback from the gathering. Shri Kanak Das and Shri Kamal Das shared their experiences, reporting sales of fresh mushrooms at Rs 200-250 per kg and smooth marketing.
