US: New hydroponic classroom for New York school

A ribbon cutting at PS X811 was filled with cheers and smiles, as the community celebrated the brand-new hydroponic classroom. Lettuce, chard, kale, tomatoes, and cucumbers are just some of the plants inside the classroom.

Hydroponic farming uses nutrients and water instead of soil.

The students in this hydroponic gardening class are students with special needs. Their teacher has watched the plants and the students blossom.

The benefits of a hydroponic classroom are wide-ranging. The students learn about science, healthy eating, and life skills.
