The Chamber of Aquaculture successfully hosted the Women in Aquaculture event on March 7, 2025, at Central Hotel, Ridge, bringing together industry stakeholders, professionals, and policymakers to celebrate and promote the contributions of women in aquaculture.

Held under the theme "Connecting the Changemakers: Fostering Collaboration Among Women in Aquaculture," the event highlighted the crucial role of women in advancing sustainable aquaculture and the importance of networking, knowledge-sharing, and policy support to drive the sector forward.

The event was hosted by Mr. Jacob Doe Adzikah, CEO of the Chamber of Aquaculture, and featured a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Dr. Lawrence Ahiah, Director of Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture at the Fisheries Commission, who represented the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture and many other industry stakeholders. Their discussions emphasized the need for greater investment in female-led initiatives and the benefits of collaboration in tackling industry challenges.

Also present was Madam Patricia Safo, Founder of Crystal Lake who was the Chairperson of the event, who underscored the importance of empowering women in aquaculture through access to funding, leadership training, and capacity building. She urged stakeholders to work together in creating an environment where women can thrive in the industry. "We believe aquaculture can provide employment for the youth," she said.
