India: Brio Hydroponics to scale commercial hydroponics parks

Ahmedabad-based agtech company Brio Hydroponics is aiming to set up more commercial hydroponics parks, according to Pravin Patel, Founder of Brio Agri and Brio Hydroponics. Terming Unnati Hi-Tech Hydroponics Park, which is spread across 100 acres near Talod in Gujarat, as a large-scale model for profitable, sustainable hydroponic farming, he said the park serves as a live demonstration of how hydroponics can be scaled commercially, offering a working template for investors, agritech startups, and stakeholders.

Asked about the investment model offered at the park, he said: "We offer investment models starting from ₹59 lakh (half acre) and upwards, allowing investors to own fully managed hydroponic farm units. Each unit spans a fixed greenhouse area with assured infrastructure and operational and technical support provided by Brio. Investors earn returns based on crop yields and market rates, with professional crop management ensuring high efficiency."

The major crops grown in the park include lettuce, bell peppers, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and exotic herbs. With six to eight production cycles a year, the park collectively produces over 2,000 tonnes of high-value vegetables annually.

He said in an email interaction with businessline that this model not only ensures passive income for investors but also promotes sustainable agriculture by reducing water usage and eliminating pesticide dependency. The investment programme also includes transparent reporting, regular updates, and buyback options, making it both secure and impactful for those looking to enter agritech, he said.
