US (WA): New seasonal box program brings produce from growers to families

A new Puget Sound Food Hub program is bringing farm-grown produce directly to consumers from Whatcom County as far down as King County. Up until now, the farmer-owned cooperative has served exclusively wholesale buyers. Farms throughout Western Washington sell their produce through the Food Hub, which markets and distributes it.

The boxes include microgreens from two different growers: Nimbus Farm and Twin Leaf Microgreens Farm.

From Nimbus Farms, microgreens are grown to order, and two 16-ounce containers are delivered every other Friday. Boxes might contain salad mix, radishes, broccoli, mustard or edible flowers.

From Twin Leaf Microgreens Farm, Fresh microgreens from this urban vertical farm are grown to order, and are available online as a single purchase or a subscription.
