Skytree and Algae Capital have announced a new collaboration. Algae Capital will utilize circular CO₂ captured by Skytree's DAC units for its pioneering algae production facility in Iceland. This partnership will see over 2,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year captured directly from the atmosphere and used in Algae Capital's cultivation process
This initiative marks a step in advancing circular CO₂ utilization, providing Algae Capital with a sustainable and reliable source of carbon dioxide thanks to Skytree's Direct Air Capture technology.

Iceland is an ideal location for Skytree's DAC technology due to its abundant geothermal and renewable energy resources, which are vital for efficiently capturing CO₂.
"By collaborating with Skytree, we can capture CO₂ directly from the air instead of from fossil sources. This makes our algae cultivation more sustainable and represents a significant step towards a climate-friendly method of production," said Michaël Blom, Project Manager at Algae Capital.
"This partnership with Algae Capital is a strong illustration of how Direct Air Capture technology allows forward-thinking greenhouses to achieve their sustainability and production goals. By delivering a clean and reliable CO₂ source, we are enabling Algae Capital in optimizing their algae cultivation," said Camille Hanna, VP Global Carbon Solutions at Skytree.
