Nigeria: Funding pools open for agritech startups at Agrithon 2025

Lagos Agrithon 2025 has officially launched — a high-impact platform spotlighting bold ideas that can transform the future of food and agriculture, has officially launched in Nigeria.

From August 23 to September 8, 2025, agripreneurs, innovators, and startups will compete for a share of a ₦150 million funding pool designed to scale transformative agri-food solutions.

Focus areas include cold chain & storage innovation, climate-smart farming practices, hydroponics & aeroponics, precision agriculture, waste-to-value models, digital platforms for ag-finance & market access, farm equipment design & local fabrication, and new product development.

"This is more than a competition; it's a springboard for pioneers who can solve Lagos' and Nigeria's most pressing agricultural challenges," organizers stated.

Applications are open for people aged aged 18–40 who have a minimum one years experience in operation with a viable product or sales, and startups registered with CAC & LASSRA.

Entries will be judged on innovation, feasibility, scalability, sustainability, and market viability — with strong pitches and compelling impact cases making the difference.
