Texas A&M to host aquaponics workshop

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host a workshop on Oct. 24 in Dallas covering how to utilize fish waste as a nutrient source for plants in aquaponic systems.

The workshop will be held 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Water Education Building at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Dallas, 17360 Coit Road.

The cost is $30 for in-person attendance, which includes lunch, or $10 for virtual attendance. To register click the link here. Doors open at 8 a.m. with the program starting at 9 a.m. and adjourning at 1 p.m. after lunch.

Featured speakers include Joe Masabni, Ph.D., professor and AgriLife Extension vegetable specialist in the Texas A&M Department of Horticultural Sciences, Dallas; T.C. Beckett, executive director, Veterans Produce; and Ron Malone, Ph.D., owner of AST bead filter, Aquaculture Systems Technologies.
