Vertical farming company Eden Green Technology will close its two greenhouses in Cleburne this December, resulting in the end of operations and the layoff of over 100 employees, according to a notice filed with the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC).
The WARN filing, listed under Johnson County in the TWC's 2025 database, shows that 102 positions will be terminated when the closures take effect on December 13, 2025.
As reported by Chron.com, the company's notice, signed by CEO Eddy Badrina, states that the decision is permanent and that all employees have been notified of their final working dates.
The development comes less than two years after Eden Green announced a $40 million expansion at the same Cleburne site, intended to triple its production capacity and create new jobs across the Dallas-Fort Worth region.

Public statement
Eden Green has confirmed the closure publicly, sharing the following statement on its website:
"It is with heavy hearts that we share Eden Green Technology will be permanently closing its doors on December 13th, 2025.
Since our founding in 2017, we have worked to transform how fresh food is grown and delivered—closer to communities, with less waste, and with more care for the planet. Together with our team, partners, and supporters, we grew millions of pounds of fresh produce, donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to local food banks, and proved that innovation and community can grow side by side.
While our journey has come to an end, we are incredibly proud of what we accomplished together: the fresh greens that nourished families, the jobs created locally, the students we educated, and the hope we brought to the future of sustainable farming.
To our employees, partners, customers, and community—you believed in us and in our mission to build a better food system. We are deeply grateful for your support and trust over the years.
Though Eden Green's chapter has closed, we hope the seeds we planted—of innovation, sustainability, and compassion—will continue to grow through the efforts of others striving for a healthier, more resilient food system.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us."
