CleanGreens Solutions SA has announced that it has filed for bankruptcy protection. "Despite extensive efforts by the Board of Directors and the CEO to secure sustainable financing, the company has been unable to maintain operations amid increasingly difficult market conditions", the company statement reads.
Not enough contracts
Founded with the mission to pioneer sustainable aeroponics, CleanGreens Solutions developed several mobile aeroponic technologies. "Our GREENOVA mobile system and GURU crop management software represented significant advances in the field, offering farmers greater control, precision, and productivity", the company says. "While interest in our solutions (predictable yields, high efficiency) was growing, we regrettably could not convert this enthusiasm into sufficient signed contracts to sustain growth."
In early 2025, CleanGreens signed an investment agreement for CHF 5 million, intended to provide the capital necessary to stabilize and expand operations. "However, the investor ultimately failed to deliver the promised funding. Without this financial support, the company was unable to execute its strategic plan and avoid an over-indebtedness situation", the statement reads.
CleanGreens celebrated successful installations, including projects with its partner GreenLife in the Middle East. In April of this year, a large project was announced when the GreenLife and CleanGreens signed an agreement to expand their collaboration and build the world's largest Aeroponics Greenhouse farm in Abdali, Kuwait.
In May, CleanGreens Solutions announced the nomination of Lionel Artusio as Interim CEO replacing departing Chief Executive Officer, Bruno Cheval.

End of a chapter
The company's decision to file for bankruptcy protection will result in the layoff of all CleanGreens employees. The Board of Directors expressed deep sorrow and immense gratitude to the team, stating: "The dedication, innovation, and unwavering commitment of our team have been the heart of our journey.
