With the new horizontal hydroponics system, Pflanzentheke is opening up the door to year-round, automated fresh produce production for direct marketers – perfect for farm shops, pick-your-own experiences, and direct sales. The modular trough concept scales from small shop areas to greenhouse rows and, according to the manufacturer, remains easy to operate and clean, as well as ergonomic.
Technically, the system has it all: a closed water cycle, precise nutrient supply, powerful sensors and fertilizer computers, as well as smart control and monitoring via app. It is prepared for automation of demand-driven irrigation/dosing and interfaces for future harvest automation. Typical crops are leafy lettuce, herbs, and snack vegetables.
