Marc Salvany & Ad van der Vorst:

"We are full of plans"

"We are full of plans," Agrolux CEO Marc Salvany told the more than 40 attendees who visited the Rotterdam Six Day track cycling event last Wednesday at the invitation of Agrolux. They were given a behind-the-scenes (and on-track) look at the event, and a moment was set aside to hear more about how the new management envisions the company's future. "We want to honor the legacy of the Agrolux brand—the brand many of you have known for so long."

Honoring the brand
While the track cyclists last Wednesday in Ahoy whizzed around the track unbearably slow or lightning-fast, a special moment was taking place in the center of the cycling track: the introduction of Agrolux in a renewed form.

Since the end of September, Agrolux has been independent again, and the team's ambitions at the start of this new era are high. Although it might sound contradictory, they will not focus on selling as many fixtures as possible. Marc explains it's much more about strengthening relationships with the sector and the customers. "Many growers have been working with Agrolux for years. These are the long-term collaborations we believe in and that we want to continue, as we can achieve success together,"

CFO Ad van der Vorst added that the company had not been optimally organized in recent years to support this long-term market vision. "But we are excited about the horticultural industry, see it has tremendous potential, and are going to tackle this with full enthusiasm."

In recent months, the team has expanded, and significant investments are being made in product development and innovation. "New software, and modular, more sustainable products," Ad offered a sneak peek. But more on that at Fruit Logistica in Berlin - because there was also cycling to watch, of course.
