Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Bahrain's Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, visited the Dar Aqua Aquaponic Farm, accompanied by Asim Abdullatif Abdulla, Undersecretary of Agriculture and Animal Wealth Affairs. They were received by Ahmed Abdulkareem Bucheeri, Chairman of the Board of Directors, to review work progress and the modern agricultural technologies applied to the project.
During the visit, the minister emphasised that advanced agricultural projects are a key pillar in supporting food security and enhancing the sustainability of Bahrain's agricultural sector. He commended Dar Aqua's adoption of innovative solutions and modern technologies that improve production efficiency, rationalise resource use, and align with the ministry's development plans.

He also toured the farm's sections and reviewed products grown through greenhouse and traditional farming, commending the advanced production standards and technologies used.
He emphasised that agricultural sector development supports the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to strengthen food security and ensure sustainable agricultural production. He also highlighted the strong support provided by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of HM the King and Chairperson of the Advisory Council of the National Initiative for the Development of the Agricultural Sector (NIAD), noting its role in advancing agricultural initiatives and national food security goals.
On his part, Ahmed Bucheeri said the ministry's support for advanced agricultural projects encourages further development of sustainable agricultural production in Bahrain.
Dar Aqua is one of Bahrain's advanced agricultural projects, spanning more than 40,000 square metres of protected agriculture. It is the largest aquaponics project in the Middle East and utilises hydroponic systems, solar energy, and integrated production, packaging, and processing lines in line with modern operational standards.
