Hawai'i opens micro-grant applications for food security initiatives

The Hawai'ian Department of Agriculture and Biosecurity's Micro-Grant Food Security Grant Program is awarding $5,000 micro-grants for individuals and $10,000 grants to organizations.

Papakōlea Community Development Corporation is hosting a quick online training session is scheduled at 6 p.m. Friday (Feb. 13) via Zoom to help those interested in the grant funding to learn more about the micro-grants and apply.

In the past, use of these micro-grants have involved the successful building of shade houses, aquaponic, hydroponic and aeroponic systems. The deadline to apply for micro-grants is noon Feb. 19.
