As "climate inflation," in which prices soar every year when cold waves and heat waves are repeated, is constant, the distribution industry is expanding its supply chain centered on smart farms. It is speeding up the stabilization of supply and demand by launching its own brand centered on smart farm products.
According to the industry on the 22nd, GS The Fresh, a supermarket (SSM) operated by GS Retail, will launch a new strawberry brand "Smart Farm Strawberry" within this month and start selling it in earnest. Previously, strawberry products operated by GS The Fresh were operated by receiving and operating general house supplies and smart farms together, but the launch of the brand is characterized by the fact that it consists only of supply and demand of smart farms.
An official from GS Retail explained, "In the past, additional supplies of house strawberries were supplied through smart farms, but smart farms are now playing a key supply and demand role."
Previously, GS The Fresh has been establishing a raw material supply and demand process in connection with smart farms. The main supply and demand products included strawberries, tomatoes, paprika, and mushrooms. GS The Fresh is first releasing strawberries as a smart farm brand and is considering expanding it in the future.
